"On My Way Back," written by Aladdin Assaiqeli, is an intriguing collection of original poetry which provides the reader with the author's unique perspective of what he deems to be a miscarriage of justice imposed upon the Arab world by the world's most dominant force, The United States, and her close ally, "Israel". Being of Palestinian heritage, Mr. Assaiqeli's experiences and views could offer an opportunity for those not well versed on the ever present struggle for co-existence between Jews and Palestinians to understand the feelings of those from the Muslim world. While some may find the author's words to be incendiary or biased in nature, they nonetheless could represent the true feelings of a significant percentage of those who occupy lands under Islamic rule. Much of Mr. Assaiqeli's work is presented in passionate verse emoting stark images pertaining to harsh and bitter conflict. A prime example of this can be found in the poem titled "Stone Vs. Tank" as the following passage clearly illustrates: Faris, the 12-year-old Pal'stinian child, with a stone in his hand, Fought US-made Israeli tanks, thus letting the stones "speak", In anticipation of a prophecy, in the Holy Land, Propelled by rights of resistance, Faris made the strong weak. Vast in volume and powerful in content, Mr. Assaiqeli offers a collection which very likely could spark discussion and debate concerning the validity of his beliefs.
